DJ Entertainment offers a one-stop event lighting hire solution, whilst trying to keep it as simple as possible. Below is a list of some of our most popular lighting options. Feel free to contact us for more detailed information.
Multi-coloured DMX LED Par Cans
This is the workhorse and standard item used, in almost all lighting rigs. Par cans create areas of light in various sizes and varying brightness. They can be used to light an area or as accent lighting. All our units can be controlled to, for example:
Shine a single solid colour (can be used to match your décor/theme)- Gradually and subtly vary colours (creates a
- sophisticated ambience)
- Work as ‘sound to light’ in various colours (great for dance floor lighting)
- Strobe (rapid flash effect)
LED Moonflower Lights
This is the classical dance-floor effect light. It produces striking beams of light in single or various colours. The beams work in patterns and create a moving effect that is vibrant and energising. They can:
Shine a single solid colour (very nice when used to match your décor/theme)- Cycle through colours and effects, slowly or quickly
- Work as ‘sound to light’ in various or single colours (great for dance floor lighting)
- This effect is especially good when used together with a smoke/fog machine.
Moving Heads (Mini & Maxi)

Sometimes called “dancers” these lights move in a pan/tilt fashion (up and down left and right). They cast a single light beam of any colour and in various shapes (gobos) and will move in a slow or fast, automatic or sound-to-light manner. This light is great for creating “reach” across a dance floor or room and the movement ensures impact.
Maxi Moving Heads are probably the most dramatic and impactful lights in use today. They are very bright (can even make an impact in a fully lit space) and offer “reach” across large spaces such as ballrooms and exhibition halls. This light can even be used with a “custom gobo” that project for example, your company logo or a wedding couple’s names. Not the cheapest light effect available, this is usually the choice for larger events (for example, large rock concerts will use 20-50 of these lights).
Smoke Machines
The use of a smoke/fog machine is nearly always a good idea. The fog (it is not really smoke) is odourless and harmless (it does NOT affect breathing at all and is quite safe for smokers and asthmatics alike).
Fog enhances all lighting effects but is especially good when used with moonflowers, strobes, and moving-heads as it as they then create solid beams of light instead of just patterns on whatever surface they strike.
Strobe Lights
A strobe light creates a flashing white light (note: our LED par cans also act as strobes in white or any colour) that can be set to any speed or as a sound-to-light effect. This is not a new or modern effect but it remains very impactful, especially when used sparingly (hence the importance of control from the DJ station).
Other Lights
The list above is by no means comprehensive and DJ Entertainment provides a wide variety of alternative lighting options to suit your needs. Simply enquire with us below for more information.
